SUMMIT FITNESS'S JANUARY MEMBER OF THE MONTH: TYLER SHORT

Tyler has been a member of Summit's private, 1-on-1 strength and conditioning program since the summer of 2021. Since that time, he's achieved a number of PR's (personal records) in his major compound lifts and has successfully gained more muscle mass.

Tyler has expanded his journey with Summit to include kickboxing and grappling lessons.

"I was active in high school and college through sports; running in college kept me active and in shape, for the most part. Two years later I found myself with a degree and a reset button on finding any activity to keep me in shape.

I stumbled upon a gym and got into it a little bit. I was enjoying myself, but had a minor setback with a shoulder injury, and then COVID hit so again I felt stuck.

I rehabbed at Peak Performance and found out about Summit Fitness. I was always afraid of taking lifting serious due to my disability. I never really thought I’d get too far with it or see any progress, making a whole lot of excuses.

But the with help of my personal trainer, Pete, and just the atmosphere at the gym I was able to take my “setback” at face value and realize that In everyday life everybody has some challenge they face and that it’s okay to do things a little differently to accomplish your goals.

Once I figured that out, I started seeing tons of progress.

My message to others would be is that it is possible, no matter how long it takes or what you have to change. With hard work you can get it done.
